After reading everything I could find on the internet about aquaponics, after watching a thousand DIY videos on the internet, I was finally able to take part in my first aquaponics project. A good friend, Steve and his brother Billy were able to setup a greenhouse and the plan was that the three of us would put together our first AP system. Garden 2017

Last season tomatoes and hot peppers did well and we had a market, so we're scaling both. Last season we did several heirloom varieties but instead opted to replace those with hierloom-esq varieties that have better disease resistance and yield. Instead of hot peppers, which aren't big sellers, we switched to three high yielding types of sweet peppers. Read More

Garden Review 2016

It’s the end of the season and time for a quick review of the 2016 garden. This year was our first real attempt at a large garden. We didn’t have any real plans to sell anything, but had goals to learn the overall process, grow leafy “cut and come again” greens for the chickens and attempt to grow tomatoes and peppers “commercially”. This year I decided to try and sprout everything in the greenhouse, which in retrospect, I probably didn’t need to do. Read More
